Oludeniz Turkey

Oludeniz (literally “Dead Sea,” due to its calm waters even during storms; officially translated as Blue Lagoon) is a small village and beach resort in the Fethiye district of Muğla Province, on the Turquoise Coast of southwestern Turkey, at the meeting point of the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas. It is located 14 km (about 8.7 miles) south of Fethiye, near Mount Babadağ. Oludeniz is one of the most photographed beaches on the Mediterranean. It features a secluded sandy bay opening onto a blue lagoon, while the main shoreline is a pebble beach. The lagoon is a national nature reserve where construction is strictly prohibited. The seawater of Oludeniz is renowned for its striking shades of turquoise and aquamarine, and its beach is an official Blue Flag beach, frequently ranked among the top five beaches in the world by travelers and tourism publications alike.
